After only 2 weeks on the job, I went on my Christmas vacation though. However, before we left, we welcomed Felita and Chantal to the islands, and caught up with Greg and Monique, who brought us to a cool speak-easy. We also celebrated Christmas with my mom.
First stop of our vacation was a layover in LA, where we had dinner with Kelvin and Kathee and then a Shanghai reunion breakfast at Lisa's amazing house. We then jetted off to Vegas, where we celebrated Aunt Carol's 80th birthday in the Palazzo. We ate, shared presents, gambled, and ate some more.
Then we flew up to the Bay Area to be with family and friends. Us poor Hawaiian couldn't handle the weather, with our hands and lips cracking due to the cold and dryness.
We visited our friends around the valley and gawked at their homes. Ed & Tina hosted a big holiday lunch for the cousins. Afterwards, the old men played sand volleyball with the young bucks at Stanford. This is perhaps the last year the old folks can still win.
