Alan flew all day from Perth to make it to Xinyi district in Taipei just in time for the fireworks off the 101 building.  What a brilliant idea!  Then walked to Barcode and joined Ted's table.  Things were under control until Stephen came by with the bottle of Patron.  Uh oh. 

Met up with my dad for lunch (beef noodle soup), family reunion, and then beef noodle soup again the following day.  On New Year's morning, Ted and I went to the American Club to watch Stanford play in the Rose Bowl.  We arrived at 6:10am for the kickoff, and next play, McCaffrey catches a short throw and runs it 75 yards for a touchdown.  By half time, the rout was embarrassing, 35-0, but having watched Stanford squander away leads before, I was quite happy.  I found my Stanford brothers to enjoy the rest of the show over coffee and omelets.  We finished with the score being 45-16.  What a great way to kick off the year!
