We were grateful that Alan's dad and our friends Jen & Stephen and Erin & Bernie and their kids could come over to our apartment in Singapore to celebrate Thanksgiving. We got the turkey from the American Club, which in turn imported it from the US. Our helper Mary Jane and ML made most of the fixings. It was delicious! Also Kyle got glasses for the first time today.
The next day, the 3 generations of Tien first-borns walked around the gorgeous Botanical Gardens while the weather was still pleasant, before it got too hot. We stayed home during the day watching NFL football. Then ate delicious soup made from the leftover turkey.
On Saturday, we went to the Mandarin Oriental's Chatterbox for "the best Hainanese Chicken in Singapore." I don't know if it was the best, but it was certainly the most expensive! I went off to play beach volleyball at Tanjong Beach Club, while Kyle and Dad kept each other company lounging in the A/C. We tried out the burgers at EWF (Everything With Fries, local hamburger restaurant), while Kyle expounded upon why the AppleWatch was a failure (based on a podcast he watched - answer is that it's not 10x better than iPhone).
I taped Kyle interviewing Grandpa:
