At the beginning of the year, Kyle auditioned for the "Thoroughly Modern Millie" middle school play on his own. When we asked how he got the part in the "Moderns," he said matter of factly, "I didn't drop the girl." A mere few months later, we were amazed to see what the middle school kids pulled off. Even more important than our enjoyment of the show was how much Kyle loved to be part of the play. He danced, he sang, he bowed. This is why we love SAS.
And guess what ML volunteered for? If you didn't guess "Cast Party," then you may be on the wrong site. After the Saturday finale performance, all the kids were bussed to the party, where ML had organized a beautiful spread. The kids descended on the pizza like a pack of wolves. Somewhat satiated, they were presented with a Cold-Stone like ice cream sundae bar. Their ticket to the ice cream line was completing a heart-felt card that went into the personalized photo album for the play director Ms. Fulcher. The kids then went out to the pool and showed off their diving skills. What a superb way to end 3 days of amazing performances after months of hard work in rehearsals!
