The ceremony was held outdoors at the gorgeous Capella hotel. The band played live music; John and Renee read their own vows; there were tears.
After the emotional ceremony, we went inside for cocktails and appetizers, and tons of picture opportunities with everyone dressed up to the nines. There was a super backdrop for pictures, which were printed up on the spot. The autograph book was made up platinum records. We of course signed the Elvis' Aloha from Hawaii album.
Then it was time to go inside to the magnificent ballroom. Food, wine, music. Naomi from our table sang an upbeat song to get the party started. There were slide shows, and dance shows, and a movie from John (Bollywood style), topped with a live performance from John! Renee changed gowns multiple times. And at some point, just when things couldn't get any crazier, John rode Renee in on the back of a Harley. The gasoline fumes were intoxicating with the pounding music! Dinner ended around midnight, just in time for dancing and midnight snacks.
Wow again. What a great introduction to the Singapore social scene.
