In London, I first stayed at the Kensington Hotel, for a close walk to the LBS forum, and as it turns out, Hyde Park and the museums. I toured the amazing Victoria and Albert Museum for free, and then had a nice burger by the lake in Hyde Park. Then I moved to Richmond, where our PP offices are on the banks of the Thames. It was very cool to use PP through our mobile app "check in" and pay for dinner.
After London was Paris. The sun set so late that I could enjoy a gin & tonic at the Louvre during sunset. I went back the next evening and went through the highlights - Venus de Milo, Winged Victory, Hammurabi's code, Napoleon's apartments - in 2 hours before closing. On the weekend, I took the train out to Versailles. So did 100k other people. I almost gave up but found a private tour of the royal quarters which allowed me to skip the lines and get a tour of a section not open to the public. Awesome! There was a Cafe Angelina in Versailles, the same famous cafe across from the Louvre that I took ML to for our 15th anniversary, so I had a virtual date with her on the iPad.
