We spent China's Golden Week holiday in Boracay, Philippines. We stayed at The Strand (booked off Agoda via PayPal!). The first few days were pouring rain as it was the end of the rainy (low) season. But we did get a few days of sunshine, which we took full advantage of at The Strand and Discovery Shores' pools, on the super soft white sand beach, and Alan playing sand volleyball. Mae-Ling made it through 5 days of detox at Mandala Spa. Alan joined for one day, which was enough! But we did decide to try to eat more healthy after we return to Shanghai. The food was only mediocre, but Dominic introduced us to a superb Hawaiian BBQ dinner, and we had our last dinner at the gourmet restaurant Alchemy (food pics below). All in all, a great trip, but the travel to and from was a bit challenging (SH->HK->Manila->little propeller plane->Boracay->catamaran ferry->mini-bus).
