Alan's Dad visits Shanghai and watched Kyle while we went to Guilin.  When we came back, we all visited Zhong Shan Park where Grandpa actually lived for a short while when he was a child.  It was a beautiful sunset with kites in the sky.  Kyle and Alan danced in the public square with the other dancers.

The next day, for Kyle's birthday, we played "Dunk the Daddy" with Keaton and Matthew.  If one boy got the soccer ball into the bucket, another one holding a cup of water over my head got to dump it.  They loved it.  When they wanted to play again later, Alan only agreed if they all got naked.  Unfortunately, the boys don't have any compunction about stripping so he had to get dunked a few more times.

ML went back to the US so Alan has Kyle for a week.  Alan took Kyle to People Square with the intention of going to see the Biennale Art show but the line wrapped around the building!  So we took pictures of some of the outside art and the huge lilies in the pond.

Kyle was selected by his classmates to "raise the flag" (click link to watch the movie).  Students are chosen weekly based on their good behavior for this honor.  They are supposed to introduce themselves and explain why they were chosen.  Of the 4 kids, only Kyle actually spoke for himself - the teachers of other students introduced them when they didn't know why they were chosen.

On a sadder note, Kyle's great grandmother passed away.  We are thankful that we were able to visit her earlier this year.
