ML flew back to the US to celebrate Ed's wedding and see her good college friends. She also went to Janey's baby shower.
Alan's mom celebrated her birthday with us before leaving on the same day JMX left. Immediately afterwards, Frances arrived to enjoy perfect-weather Shanghai, with virtually no traffic, during May Holidays. ML packed her schedule with a week-long tour of Shanghai tai-tai living - hair washes, daily massages, luncheons at hip restaurants with shark tanks, walks along the bund with the Goodyear blimp floating by, playing a confusing Chinese card game with new friends, visiting strange art museums, and buying expensive (looking) purses.
After all of our visitors and houseguests left, we had numerous playdates at home and Kidtown, celebrated Jamie's birthday with shots on a weeknight, and just generally lived a packed social schedule.
During the day, Alan set up the Representative Office for Geni. Have you checked out all of our new features recently??? He is also working out at the Hilton gym quite frequently, trying to recoup the cost of membership.
We visited Beijing with Don in town. Don and Alan went to Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall. When ML came to town, we moved to our friend's Sylvia and Tjun's gorgeous villa where Kyle and Lauren played so well together. At Happy Valley - a brazen Disneyland knock-off, we tooled around in an electric scooter, enjoyed the kid rides, and just gaped at the huge displays. We also visited Summer Palace and took a boat around the lake. Finally, we had dinner with Alan's cousins Harry (Calvin) and Lisa, and friends Ed, Don, Eric, and Julius, at Red Capital Club.
