What a week! We celebrated Kyle's 1 year birthday and the Grand Opening of Keiki Place with a fantastic Luau party. We must thank so many people for helping us pull this feat off. First, this wouldn't have been possible without the tireless work of our new employees Linda, Helen and Jennifer. Secondly, the event would have been tasteless (pun intended) without Vanessa's incredible cooking. Her Kalua pork definitely tastes better than the ones we've had at "authentic" luau's in Hawaii! Thirdly, our party planner extraordinaires from Prime Image assisted in so many ways to make sure the event ran smoothly. Then of course, we relied on our friends and family: Allen for the professional-looking sign, Cheryl for the kid goodie bags, Alfred for the pictures (not posted yet), Mary for running out to buy the commercial mop when we had our "plumbing problem," David and Gilbert for handling the plumbing emergency with aplomb (yet another pun intended), Spencer and Chandar for drinking with Alan when everyone left, ...
On Kyle's actual birthday (9/24), we officially opened for business. Later that evening, we had family over at Keiki Place for a more intimate celebration.
In between, Alan flew off to Seattle for a Microsoft event. Yes, he has his own full-time job at PayPal. At night, he's just Keiki Place's handyman, janitor and IT guy.
